In some respects this project has been a long time coming, but in other ways it has all come about very quickly
I have always been interested in the creative arts, having dabbled periodically in any number of different activities, from pottery to flower pressing, batik to cake decorating, photography to ikebana (the Japanese art of flower arranging).
I obtained a degree in Textile Engineering, a PhD in Textile Chemistry, and an MA in Interior Design. During one of my summer holidays from university, I worked at a silk printing firm in The Cotswolds, England. While a student I also had a small business making my own batik greeting cards.
I knew from an early age that I wanted to do something creative with my life, but up till now I haven’t created the opportunity to pursue this full time.
In 2015 a friend offered to teach me how to make FIMO jewellery. I took her up on her kind offer and found myself really enjoying it. At the same time another friend gave me lessons on how to do wiring and bead work for jewellery.
I have combined these techniques with all of my other experiences and the results you can see contained within this website.
