Colours are magical. Colours are inspirational. Colours can define you. Colours can describe your mood. Colours can make a statement. Colours can tell a story. Colours are everywhere.
For most designers, colour inspiration comes from the world around them. From nature, their mood, to satisfy a brief, or to simply test something new. Nature is a great inspiration, in a classic way – such as red and green for holly and ivy. Nature often gives us very harmonious colours that are very relaxing and pleasing on the eye.
My inspiration comes from different places. I have always been interested in colour combinations and how their work together. The colour wheel illustrates very well how opposites and adjacents work for different colours. Ultimately, colour choices are very personal. Be bold, be brave, and choose colours that make you happy.
